We have officially entered into the two week mark until one of my favorite holidays…Thanksgiving! As I live here in London, I host Thanksgiving dinner every year at my flat in Notting Hill for all of my British friends (this will be the 4th year doing it which is crazy and thank god for Wholefoods here as it has saved my life for this holiday in particular). As much as I prepare for the food part (which yes is important), I get most excited about the design of my table every year…like…What color palette will I use? How do I do the place cards? Today I am sharing some of my favorite ideas for tabletop inspiration for this year’s Thanksgiving (although any of these could also work for a Fall inspired dinner party). Each idea and theme really has me thinking….
SAY IT WITH A GARLAND
I love this simple room and that beautiful gold DIY garland from A Beautiful Mess. It doesn’t feel overdone but just enough for a perfect festive dinner.
GO DARK & MOODY
Although I would typically not think to dress a Thanksgiving table with lots of black and grey, there is no question here that Athena Caldrone from Eye Swoon has literally knocked it out of the park with this stunning Thanksgiving tablescape in those moody hues.
GO FOR COLOR & PATTERN
Keep it fun and playful like Emily Henderson did here by mixing upbeat patterns and vibrant colors to create a light and cheerful Thanksgiving table. (I really like how she used unexpected colors like pinks and blues, along with more traditional pops of orange and yellow).
It has honestly never crossed my mind to do Thanksgiving in all white, but after seeing this stunner on Style Me Pretty I will be re-thinking that completely. With the touches of dark green magnolia leaves, this table is amazing!
I kind of love everything about this table by Apartment 34 …the rustic wood farm table, the clementines as decor accents, the mixes of plum napkins, rich colors of the seasonal flowers, the easy greenery draped down the table and the no fuss dinnerware. Effortless beauty.
It’s amazing how a simple striped side plate can change the entire look of a table. I think this Fall styled table seen on The Wedding Lady , with its autumnal flowers, all white dinnerware and those gold striped side plates, is so simple yet super glamourous!
BRING IN NATURE
Cover the table in brown paper with crayons on hand for a really fun kid’s table as seen here on A Blissful Nest.
