5 Ways To Beat The February Blues In London

07 Feb 2017 Health

I think for most people, February is one of those months that is just plain hard to take. It is towards the end of Winter so we are all just about done with the cold, but still the weather is freezing and dreary. The one plus of this month is that the days slowly (and I mean slowly) start to become longer but to me it is just one of those “bla” months where we are all just ready for Spring already. During this February I always try to travel some place warm (which almost never happens). So instead of just wishing for a vaca, I try to keep in mind colorful, botanical inspired spaces that get my brain into a warmer mode. Here are 5 ways that I am currently beating my personal February blues here in London.

How To Cope With The February Blues

A Bigger Splash 1967 David Hockney born 1937 Purchased 1981 http://www.tate.org.uk/art/work/T03254
Visit the David Hockney Exhibition At The Tate Britain. As one of my favorite artists, Hockney’s work is bright, vivid and so California. I cannot wait to see this show that features a selection of his most famous works that is sure to be up-lifting and inspiring. (It is on from the 9th Feb – 29th May 2017).
Go to brunch at Bourne & Hollingsworth. I have literally been dying to get over to this restaurant (for a year now). It is a botanical dream (right up my ally). Luckily, I have been invited to a lunch there in late Feb (so excited), but either way I would have made the trip to visit this space!

Check out Diptyque’s new Rosa Mundi collection at one of their stores. Rosa Mundi is the new limited edition Diptyque scent. I really want one of these (mainly because they are just so beautiful) but also I heard they smell amazing too. (great V-Day gift as well!).
Pamona Notting Hill
Pretend you are in California by going to Paomona’s. This is the newest edition to the fantastic restaurant scene happening in Notting Hill. The food is so delicious but better yet the decor is bright and very L.A. inspired (just how I like it).
Visit a plant shop or conservatory (and get yourself a little something for your house). I am especially smitten with this particular shop in Hackney (Conservatory Archives). My other go to for plant shopping is Clifton Nurseries in Maida Vale!
